Bumpin!!

April 11th, 2008

Hi everybody, I know its been quite some time since i last wrote, please forgive me, things have been crazy lately. Anyways, I wanted to tell everyone about the latest update in our website. I am pretty sure all of you have noticed a small chat widget from bumpin in the right panel of tutorials-expert.com. This cool little widget lets people of similar interests connect. So people on the same page (that you see in the widget) are actually interested more or less in the same tutorials that you are looking for. This creates a cool helping community kinda thing. You can chat, discuss and make friends.

Further more, when you login to your account, the bumpin widget automatically sets your username as the bumpin nick name letting others know your exact reference. This becomes very handy specially if you want to ask something directly from the tutorial writer (if he/she is online).

All thanks and credit goes to the hard working bumpin team which made all these wonderful features. They are continuously adding new features making it a very interesting and wonderful application. I hope you all visit there website http://www.bumpin.com

I hope you all have a nice day!.

Hello you all.

Today i made a really cool plugin. Its a plugin that adds Tutorials-Expert.com’s search engine to your browser directly.

All you have to do is click on the “Add Search Plugin” on the main website’s bottom panel under the heading “Plugins”. This will ask for your conformation. Once approved, you will be able to see Tutorials-Expert’s search in your browser’s search module.

This module is usually at the top right corner in Firefox 2 browsers by default.

Note: This plugin is new and only works on the latest browsers such as Firefox 2 and IE 7.

November 25th, 2007

Today the total tutorials in our database reached up to 15,000.

So this post is to thank you all who are doing a wonderful job in helping others who are new to computer graphics and softwares.

Special thanks goes to our dedicated staff which has posted more than 12k tutorials on their own. Now its time that the users take charge and benefit others. :)

Do remember to rate the tutorials so as to ensure the quality of the tutorials listed.

Search Module

November 17th, 2007

Our search Module (beta) has been released. You can incorporate our tutorial search engine onto your website. Its a three block code.

JavaScript:

The Javascript contains all the small validation checks and effects which our result IFRAME uses. There are two parameters (in this version) which you can change, the height and the ID of the IFRAME. Both these parameters are used in rest of the Javascript for the search to work. This Javascript should be placed in your website’s HEAD element.

Search Dialog Code:

This is a plain HTML form containing basically three elements. The Search Keywords input box, the category selection dropdown element and the submit button. You can customize these elements to match your layout / Template. Please avoid changing the name of these elements as it wont work otherwise. After pressing the submit button, the query is passed to the search results IFRAME element.

Search Result IFRAME:

This is a simple IFRAME code. You should put this on the same html page where the JS and the search dialog resides. The purpose of this IFRAME is to provide the most releavent results from our database. There are hardly any parameters you can change in this code.

Please feel free to contact us if you are facing any problems. This module has NOT been tested throughly. For this reason there still might be bugs in it. Please inform us immediately so that we can fix the issue ASAP.

Browsers!

November 14th, 2007

Tutorials Expert has been developed as a multi brower complaint application. To achieve this, we have used xHTML, CSS 2.0 and all compatible Javascript. Yet it is recommended that visitors use newer browsers like Mozilla FireFox 2+, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7+ and latest Apple Safari. Opera has been tested too but with one or two bugs.

Our website does open fine in IE6 but we highly recommend to please upgrade as newer security modules have been incorporated which are only aviable in these latest browsers.

It is also recommended that our visitors enable Javascript so as to enjoy all the features of the website.

anyways, Happy learning :)
